i`ve been watching this programme on the television recently called ice road truckers and it`s about a group of truck drivers that complete dangerous deliveries on the ice roads of canada. the journeys involve driving hundreds of miles across some of the most treacherous roads that you can imagine. many of the trucks are coupled to Flatbed Trailers and upon these trailers massive loads are placed. my admiration goes out to the truckers as they complete one crazy delivery after the next. it certainly is compelling viewing watching the rigs coupled to Flatbed Trailers trundling across frozen ice. the one thing that is apparent as you watch the drivers at work is how versatile the trailers are. one minute they can be loaded up with office modules and the next they can have essential plant equipment loaded onto the back of them. here in the uk truck drivers put similar trailers through their paces as well, although they tend to drive in tarmac rather than sheer ice. transport firms often buy their own fleet of trailers and hire companies are also available that can lease out Flatbed Trailers as and when they are required. i`m not sure i`d make the grade as an ice road trucker but i certainly enjoy watching these guys at work.
